A great trial came to David. In verse 6, David said

A great trial came to David…
…Verse 6…David declares, “I will not be afraid, even if tens of thousands surround me, because the Lord will surround me as a shield.”

David had trusted in God from a young age.
God protected him from wild beasts when he was a shepherd, saved him from King Saul’s persecution, and delivered him from battles with foreigners.
During Absalom’s rebellion, the greatest crisis of his life, David said, “I will not be afraid of tens of thousands.”
I believe this was because his trust in God and his prayers had repeatedly permeated his body, becoming a ingrained habit, a temperament ingrained in his mind and body, allowing him to turn his attention to God even in times of crisis and find peace in God’s presence and protection…🤔
…Even in the midst of pain and sorrow, David never forgot to worship the Lord.
And, as always, he slept peacefully and awoke healthily.
"The Lord will do good for me!"
